Review Topic: K3 Visa

My Wife is a Venezuelan citizen and I am a US citizen. we were married in Costa Rica and our Visa interview was conducted in Costa Rica.

The interview wasn't much of an "interview". We had the appointment at noon and was out of there by 2. We picked up our package 3 from the embassy a week befor. They gave us our apt. date for one week later at that time. Medical took only 2 days. We had anticipated the other stuff and had everything ready. they required from us:
-The Medical evaluation
-2 copies of ds-156 filled out on line
-2 copies of the ds-230
-Police certificates
-Marriage certificate
-Birth certificate
-I-134

I also provided a letter from me explaing that I had been living with my wife since our marriage along with certified copies of my passport to prove it. Also, the letter explained why I had not been working because I had been living in Costa Rica

Review Topic: K1 Visa

Went to Costa Rica on Oct. 25th to see my fiance. I called the US Embassy on th 26th and they told me they had not received the packet from the NVC wait one week and give them a call. Before that time period was up they called and informed Deysi they had the packet I had submitted in the states and invited us to pick up the Packet 3 the following day. We picked up that packet on Nov. 11th and like a scavenger hunt it was off to fill the requirements. Doctors, Police and dcoument bureau this took the most time and was the most frustrating. I can tell you the national pastime in Costa Rica has got to be standing in line at their governmental offices. When all requirements were fulfilled I called the Embassy Nov. 17th and told them my departure date for the states was Nov. 24th and was wondering if I needed to be there for the interview and if so if we could get in before then. They were so very cordial and told me to come in the 19th at noon and we could get the inter... read complete review

Review Topic: General Review

We obtained an appointment very quickly, less than a week if we chose, however we waited a few weeks so that I could arrive. Once inside the wait was not at all that long, we did not wait more than an hour for our interview once we were inside. Package 3 had outdated forms ( I was so brainfried by that point I didn't even notice) during the interview, the consulate provided me with the correct 2 forms, which I filled out then and there,(speedwriting). The consulate asked many questions about our relationship, did not want to see supporting information(I brought a lot)but did want to see my paystubs. Visa was approved, but I did start to sweat a bit!
